About tailoring
"Measurement points and methods"
The following locations are the minimum measurements required to tailor a kimono. If you have any other measurements, please take them. If you do not specify any measurements, we will use standard measurements or calculate the overall dimensions based on the overall balance.
A. "Length": Measure in a straight line from the bottom of the back collar (from the back) to the hem.
B. Sleeve length: Measure from the end of the sleeve to the sleeve seam (the top crease of the sleeve) along the top crease of the shoulder (straight to the side to the back seam. Please note that measuring diagonally will result in an error.
C. Shoulder width: Measure in a straight line from the center of the back to the top of the sleeve.
D. "Sleeve width" Measure at a right angle from the top of the sleeve.
E. Sleeve length: Please measure the length of your sleeves. Please take into consideration the sleeve length of the undergarment you will be wearing.
F. "Front width" Please measure the front width. We recommend that you measure a kimono that does not have a matching pattern (Komon or Tsumugi) if possible. For kimonos with matching patterns (Furisode, Tomesode, Homongi, Tsukesage), the matching of patterns may take priority, so the measurements may be slightly larger. *Please measure the front body part of the image.
G. "Back width" Measure the back width.
"Okumi width" Measure near the hem. It may be narrower towards the top. *Please measure the back part of the image.
