Tailoring option "Ishikiate"
Ishikidate is a patch of cloth attached to the lower part of the back of a kimono. Ishikidate is the same for both men and women.
Benefits of a residence
- For thin, see-through kimonos, it significantly reduces the possibility of underwear showing through and damage to the outer fabric (protection of seams and partial stretching of the fabric).
- Since it does not come into direct contact with the kimono fabric, it is less likely to get sweat or dirty.
- Light-colored single-layer kimono help prevent your legs from showing through.
- Kimono made from materials such as cotton and tsumugi that are less likely to slip when walking allow for better foot movement.
Disadvantages of a residence
-When the temperature rises , you will have to wear another layer of fabric, which can make you feel hotter.
- If the elasticity of the outer material is different from that of the inner material, care must be taken to avoid snagging.
- Tailoring prices will rise.
〇 Thin cotton and linen kimonos for early summer and summer will come with a "sha" lining, which has a smooth and comfortable texture.
*Regular cotton or wool kimonos will come with "plain weave polyester" fabric.
