In the 1940s, he was recognized for his work as a dyer, and as part of the Folk Crafts Movement advocated by Muneyoshi Yanagi, he completed a unique Konjin fabric called Katakai Cotton under his guidance. This fabric was born from the idea of ​​"beauty suited to practical use," which is not just decorative but is integrated into everyday life.
* Kon'ya originally meant an indigo dyeing shop, but since in the past indigo dyeing shop was synonymous with dyeing shop, the term "kon'ya" came to refer to all dyeing shops.
