" About Katakai Cotton" The History of Konni Kobo
In the 1940s, he was recognized for his work as a dyer, and as part of the Folk Crafts Movement advocated by Muneyoshi Yanagi, he completed a unique Konjin fabric called Katakai Cotton under his guidance. This fabric was born from the idea of "beauty suited to practical use," which is not just decorative but is integrated into everyday life.
* Kon'ya originally meant an indigo dyeing shop, but since in the past indigo dyeing shop was synonymous with dyeing shop, the term "kon'ya" came to refer to all dyeing shops.
