The coolness of Japan, continuing from the Edo period, from Omi and Takashima

Compared to regular plain weave, Takashima Chijimi twists the weft threads more than twice as many times, creating wrinkles that reduce the surface area that touches the skin, and weaves the fabric with 120 threads instead of the usual 180, creating more gaps and allowing for better ventilation . This allows the fabric to absorb sweat well and dry quickly. The weft threads are made of tightly twisted yarn, which allows it to stretch and shrink, so even if you sweat, it won't stick to your skin and won't feel sticky. This keeps it cool.
