"Cotton and washi paper fabric" Strong cotton thread is used as the warp thread, and finely cut twisted Japanese paper is used as the weft thread, and the fabric is woven on a loom. Cotton thread has the strength and flexibility that is also used for denim, and Japanese paper thread has the same strength as hemp. The fabric is a little rough and crisp, but the addition of washi thread to the cotton gives it strength and a light, fluffy feel.
